Capture the Flag
Game principle
- Playground:
- 2 territories, each with a flag + “base” at a similar distance
- a small neutral “DMZ” border with “prison” for tagged players
- (flag could also be hidden by players, not recommended)
- Game goal: Bring the other team’s flag across the border
- Stop capturing the flags only by tagging:
- Players can only be tagged in the opposing territory
- BOTH players (captors, prisoners) walk to prison, caught players stay for e.g. 2 min, captors can touch the prison and continue playing.
Materials
- markings for playing fields, boarder, prison
- “tag method”
- e.g. clothespin with fabric scrap: strapped to the back of player, catcher must pull it off (tagging becomes controllable/proofable)
- e.g. balls (alternative to taggin, but difficult to control)
- (jersies for referees/teams)
- A new timer labelled with a random letter can be added if the name field is empty. This allows for a quick start of the timer.
- The letter is assigned to a prisoner on their arrival.
- When timers are finished, the letter is read out, that the prisoner knows when to leave the prison.
- The app also reads out expired timers aloud. (Please turn on your device’s speakers)
